DR’s Library Vol VIII
Artist Statement – DR’s Library
In this series, DR’s Library, I am interested in how the visual information is processed and ‘made sense of’. I am also interested in the process of photography, in what I refer to as the structure of an image, chemically, digitally or optically. The structure can be as simple as the design, the composition, but can also be more. It is the make up of the object that is viewed. It is what is ‘behind’ the image; the lines, the dots, the grains, the pixels. These all serve to transform into an image, into a visual experience.
The starting point for this series was digital photographs of the books, shelves, and space of a private library.
