Description
Artist Statement:
I was invited to create a horse weathervane for a collector in Bedford, NY. in 1992. After completion, I decided to use the horse image as my iconic design. In 2014, I made the same basic horse image but as a wall sculpture. There are four different units, two-face right and two-face left. Each work is created with rebar, lifting hooks and saw blade manes. The manes are hand cut using a jigsaw and several metal cutting blades. The steel elements are heated with an acetylene torch, hammered, shaped and stick welded. After brushing the surface with an electric wire wheel, the surface is coated with Val oil.
