Artist Statement
When I paint, I choose my palette based on my instinctive response to the energy of the music I’m listening to when I begin. I always choose music that I can’t help but sing along to and move my body with. I often get lost in the lyrics, the beats, and the memories that are tied to each track. I lose track of time and just let the marks, shapes and palette come together organically. I generally select a playlist to start and then keep within that same vibe/genre until the work is complete.
