
Arnold Kastenbaum
Arnold is a film based artist based in New York. A master printer working exclusively in film and gelatin silver prints his goal is to create a sense of surprise at seeing a simple object in a new way. He takes some inspiration from Mies van der Rohe who once noted that “An interesting plainness is the most difficult and precious thing to achieve.” Notable exhibits and awards include 2020 ArtsWestchester Larry Salley award, 2018 Westchester Magazine outstanding visual artist, and Best in Show at New York City Javits Contemporary Art Fair. He teaches photography at SUNY Purchase and is often a guest speaker and juror at New York art shows and events and has enjoyed numerous museum and gallery exhibits in the region.
