Sofie Swann is an American abstract artist based in Connecticut. Born and raised in Tehran, Iran, she fled her home country at a young age to find refuge in the US. Her paintings are primarily composed of repetitive elements that create a sense of rhythm or movement. Each painting reflects a vivid memory of her life experiences, some real, others imagined. Swann hides her trademark “house” signature in every painting, a symbolic element representing her lifelong journey of finding a place called home.
Swann graduated from Smith College, holds a law degree and studied art at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts. Swann was awarded Best in Show in the prestigious 68th annual Art of the Northeast competition at Silvermine Arts Center.
