“Revelry”
October 17 – November 5, 2023
Back by popular demand! Chroma Fine Art Gallery is delighted to showcase Alissa Leigh for her second solo show at the Gallery. The exhibition, entitled Revelry, features paintings with the painter’s signature compositions – abstract symbols, textural surface treatment, strong and cheerful colors, and graffiti style motifs. “Alissa is so talented; she brings such a great energy to the gallery! We just had to invite her back!” explains curator Rita Baunok.
Leigh grew up in South Salem and has been a consistent and longtime participant in the region’s cultural scene. As a self-taught artist, she retains a fresh, uninhibited attitude and a commitment to experimentation in both technique and material. She currently lives and works in Bedford, NY; and her creative blossoming is evident across the region. Calling Leigh a “household name throughout Northern Westchester,” Katonah Connect Magazine profiled her creative journey in an insightful 5-page spread in its recent September/October issue, and selected her eye-catching “Spring Street” painting to grace its back cover. Leigh was invited to participate in this fall’s illustrious Armonk Outdoor Art Show, selected for “the vibrancy and playfulness” of her work, said Liz Green of the organization.
From October 17 – November 5 2023, Alissa Leigh’s colorful canvases will adorn Chroma Fine Art Gallery’s walls. And to partake in some revelry of your own, the opening reception will be held on October 21, from 4-8pm, to coincide with the last Katonah Art Walk of the year. If you wish to add one of her energetic and appealing works of art to your collection, you might want to act quickly. Leigh sold an astonishing 28 paintings at her last solo exhibition in at Chroma in October 2022. The new work Leigh created exclusively for the Revelry exhibition is sure to keep this artist’s positive momentum going strong.
