Artist Statement:
I am a fine art photographer and encaustic painter. In 2003 I completed my degree in fine art photography, using film as my main medium. The inspiration for my art comes from real life and emotional connections –a moment captured or a glimpse of a reflection. I love to translate these things into created works that speak to the heart of a viewer.
Whether I am creating a photograph or a piece of art, I’m constantly inspired by movement, wildness and emotion. In art I use multi-layered wax paint over my photographs to create highly textured, three dimension works on hard wood surfaces. This process has brought new life to my images and ignited a fire within me to continue exploring both photography and encaustic painting!
