Artist Statement – Ruth Raskin
The photographs that comprise Camera Shy were originally made as chemigrams. That alternative photographic process produces images without using a camera. Some of the concepts I had going into the darkroom were specific; others had more latitude. No matter, I am always surprised with the result.
