Artist Statement: John Plunkett
I am interested in painting greatly simplified forms, relying on minimal bold fields of color defined by either architectural structures or rectangles. The work under the title “Color, Balance & Rhythm” does not depict anything found in nature, instead relying on shape, line and form with no particular subject. The work titled “Neighbors” relies on a single architectural structure to convey its purpose. My intension is that the viewer will be drawn in and visually effected by the colors.
