Artist Statement:
This beautiful mare is Madame Grande. She was surrendered by her owner, along with her pasture mate Latanya. After spending her first few years of life on the track, she was sent off to a farm to be a brood mare for her remaining years. We will never know how many babies she had, but this sweet girl was so nurturing to everyone she met. I learned a lot from her, and she will always hold a special place in my heart. She is currently being loved and cared for by 13 Hands Equine Rescue in New York.
