Arnold Kastenbaum
Arnold Kastenbaum is a contemporary film-based artist based in New York City. A master printer working exclusively in film and gelatin silver prints his goal is to create a sense of surprise at seeing a simple object in a new way and takes some inspiration from Mies van der Rohe who once noted that “An interesting plainness is the most difficult and precious thing to achieve.” Notable exhibits and awards include 2020 ArtsWestchester Larry Salley award, 2018 Westchester Magazine outstanding visual artist, and Best in Show at New York City Javits Contemporary Art Fair. He is represented by galleries in New York City and Connecticut and has enjoyed numerous exhibits in the region as well as Paris and Vienna. For the past few years he has taught a personal vision class at SUNY Purchase.
