Artist Statement:
Through art, I seek to create expressive imagery that moves between abstraction and representation. I employ an intuitive approach in my work, emphasizing improvisation and process rather than a predetermined subject. My interest is in the complex interplay of color and texture, line, shape, and form. Avoiding predetermined choices for ideas or subjects lets me focus on the process of painting and what may be revealed over time. The artwork provides an experience or personal journey which is meant to engage the viewer and spark their imagination.
