“Bliss”

June 22 – July 17

Now through July 17, Chroma Fine Art Gallery will showcase paintings that capture the warmth and beauty of summer. The exhibition, “Bliss,” features three painters whose work is characterized by bright, rich colors: Vanessa Pineda Fox, Jean Morley, and Kelly Schwark. “This exhibition celebrates abstract paintings with lush, exuberant color palettes, and the feelings of joy and happiness they radiate,” explains curator Rita Baunok.

Vanessa Pineda Fox’s paintings are built by layering saturated colors of quick-drying, acrylic paint. She incorporates elements of collage, text, pattering and texture to create visually appealing, thought-provoking works.

Jean Morley’s painterly compositions feature translucent layers of alcohol inks, which create soft, luminous, billowy effects. With subject matter that is reminiscent of flower petals, clouds, smoke, the sea, and other elements of nature, Morley’s work is characterized by “an explosion of brilliant color, deep layers of emotion, and spiritual awareness.”

Kelly Schwark’s unique paintings feature colorful compressions of mixed elements, united together within a rectangular edge. The arrangement of forms is simultaneously structured yet organic. Schwark’s energetic marks of swirls and loops recalls natural elements like coral and other marine life, landscape scenes, pebbles, flowers, leaves and plants.
